What is Hypnotherapy? 
Hypnotherapy is an ancient therapy first used in Egyptian times and today a recognised therapy for its fast and effective results deep down in the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is our driver, our hard drive if you like, and is responsible for most of what we do and think each moment of our lives. Hypnotherapy gives you the option to have a good old word with your subconscious mind, where negative emotions and thoughts and behaviours might be hiding out, and change that around. Sounds simple, maybe too simple? Yes perhaps, and of course when we are working with those heavy negative emotions this work can be tough but it is possible and the outcome can be incredible. 
 
Negative emotions gone. Negative thoughts gone. Negative behaviours gone. Feeling happy, positive and motivated in their place. The main thing we want you to know about hypnotherapy is that you are in control. Mind control or anything you might have seen on tv about being turned into chickens against your will, is not what takes place in a therapeutic hypnotherapy session with trained professionals. 
What is Kinetic Shift? 
Kinetic Shift is a hypnotherapy technique that works with the energy of our emotions and I learned this technique with the UK Hypnosis Academy 4 years ago now. It is a very effective way of working with specific emotions, especially trauma, and removing them from the mind. Honestly, it is one of those things that is really hard to explain in words but very easy to demonstrate in real life. What we will say is that the results are phenomenal and learning this made our sessions even more effective than they were before! 

What is EFT? 

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique, and it is an alternative therapy for physical pain and emotional distress. Similar to acupuncture, EFT focuses on the meridian points - or energy hot spots, to restore your body’s energy. Instead of needles EFT uses fingertips to apply pressure to these specific points. We guide you through the process but the pressure is applied by yourself. It is something we teach to all our clients so they can use it independently and between hypnotherapy sessions for the best results. Ultimately the technique reduces physical and emotional pain in the body’s system and we love it here at Hummingbird Hypnotherapy.
